There’s nothing more fun than spending quality time with those you love. Earlier in the season, my family and I visited Puttshack in downtown Philadelphia to play miniature golf for the first time, and it was a blast!
As soon as we stepped inside, the atmosphere was vibrant, upbeat, and exciting. Since our game was scheduled in advance, we walked right in and quickly signed in at the kiosk. After signing in, we headed to the Emerald Course to start our 9-hole mini golf game.
After grabbing our putters and microchipped ball that tracked every shot, we started our family fun!
Playing Mini Golf At Puttshack

We were greeted by the course attendant, who gave us a quick overview of the high-tech game. (We were impressed to learn that the ball automatically tracks your score — no pencils needed!)
It’s simple: the scoreboards cue each player when it’s their turn to start swinging, and the player with the highest score wins.
The courses were a joy to play— each one designed to challenge and entertain. We especially loved the drum course — a playful challenge that had us guiding the ball across a series of drums before sinking it into the hole. My little sister landed the trick shot with ease!
From fun trivia moments to pesky hazards to avoid, there was fun at every turn. The sheer novelty of the experience was a great way to keep us all busy and engaged.
The competition heated up as we moved toward the final holes. My whole family played their hearts out, but in the end, there could only be one champion. Much to her delight (and our mock-frustration), my baby sister pulled off the win!
Eating At Puttshack
After our game, we headed to the restaurant section of Puttshack to grab some delicious bites. Although our wait time was a bit lengthy, we were treated with kindness and professionalism by the staff. All the food was hot and ready.

After a round of fantastic non-alcoholic drinks, we began to dig into the yummy appetizers. We worked up quite an appetite, so we dove into a few of Puttshack’s crave-worthy bites: the Lebanese Hummus with Grilled Pita, Sweet Heat Shrimp Skewers, Thai Fried Chicken, and Maryland Crab Dip.
Next, we tried the Puttshack Poutine— garlic fries served with gravy, cheese curds, and goat cheese crema— and Sweet & Spicy Brussels Sprouts. Definitely worth the try!

And for those who love sweet treats, we finished off our time with French Quarter Beignets and Key Lime Pie. The photos speak for themselves!

My Honest Review
It was a day filled with laughter, friendly rivalry, and great food—a reminder that a family day of fun doesn’t require sunshine, just good company. We left feeling energized and already planning our next trip back!
I would highly suggest visiting during the holiday season if you want to keep your family busy and do away with cabin fever as the days get shorter. We all need a dose of fun to fend off the cold-weather blues, and this was just that!
