It’s February and “love” is not only in the air— it’s on our social media timelines, advertised on every commercial, and don’t even get me started about the Valentine’s Day decor in every cafe, department store, and more.
While this season can feel sweet for those in committed relationships, it often brings singles an unnecessary sense of pressure to be “boo’d up” and feelings of loneliness.
In an effort to make it less stressful, I’m sharing some of my best tips for navigating “Love Month” with intention and joy. From solo dates to investing in your own happiness, find out the ways to shower yourself with extra love this month (and beyond).
✨ Change Your Perspective
Shift how you view February. Instead of seeing it as a celebration reserved for couples, see it as a time to honor all kinds of love—friendship, family, and, most importantly, self-love. Gratitude for the positive relationships in your life can change your outlook and bring you joy this month.
✨ Schedule A Solo Date
Being single during Love Month doesn’t have to feel heavy or overwhelming. It can actually be an invitation to turn inward — to focus on yourself, deepen your self‑love, and celebrate the unique joys that come with your own company. Enter solo dates!
The beauty of solo dating is that you can truly do what brings you joy— whether that looks like a spa day or enjoying lunch at your favorite place. Dating yourself is about dedicating time and energy to your happiness. It’s about giving yourself the same care, attention, and love you’d offer to a partner. It’s about learning to spend time with yourself to not only build self-awareness, but also self-confidence.

✨ Invest In Your Growth
Now is a great time to invest in yourself and explore new things. Prioritizing your growth helps you stay grounded, confident, and open to new opportunities—whether in relationships or other aspects of life.
Join a class, start a new hobby, or work toward a personal goal. Growth and learning increase self-confidence and create a pathway for new experiences and connections.
✨ Establish A Self-Care Routine
Start a new plan that focuses on self-care, such as journaling, meditating, practicing gratitude, or simply taking time to relax. These habits can help reinforce a positive mindset and a more profound sense of self-worth.
✨ Celebrate With Others
Plan a gathering with people who matter to you. It could be a casual night with friends, a family dinner, or a virtual hangout. Surrounding yourself with support and joy reminds you that love exists in many forms.
Make this the Season of understanding YOU and know that your value is not connected to your relationship status. Sis, it’s okay to prioritize loving yourself and embracing the joys of independence every day, not just in February. Raise a glass to yourself this Love Month—you deserve it!
