Sometimes the fiercest battles aren’t fought in the world around us, but within our own minds. For Neurographic artist Ayiana Viviana, that inner dialogue became a turning point— one that ultimately led her to art as a source of peace and healing.
In a candid interview on Lemonade Moments, Ayiana opens up about her personal journey with mental health and how she transformed her deepest struggles into a life-affirming form of creative expression.
Ayiana’s “lemon” moment was a period where she struggled with her mental health, tormented by a “persistent voice” that told her she was a problem that should be eliminated. In that critical moment, a “second voice” broke through, one that told her to “pick up a paintbrush and canvas.”
Though it didn’t make sense at the time, she chose to listen, and that simple act was the pivot that defined her future and led her on a path towards healing.
By creating Neurographic art— a therapeutic drawing technique that transforms emotions and thoughts into abstract designs— Ayiana was able to release herself from trauma and pain.
Today, Ayiana continues to create sweetness and joy by reminding herself that there is always beauty to be found in life. And to other women who are facing a sour season, she encourages everyone to find and cherish the things that feel soft and sweet in life.
