For six and a half years, Aunyea Lachelle has hosted one of Philly’s most loved lifestyle shows, Philly Live (which she helped build from the beginning).
Through her work, the TV host brought viewers closer to the city — highlighting hidden gems, uplifting community leaders making a difference, and sharing authentic moments with stars like Taraji P. Henson, Tyler Perry, Samuel L. Jackson, Adam Sandler, Robert DeNiro, and many more.
Now, as the NBC10 show shifts to a more condensed format, the media personality is stepping into a new season of her life, and she opened up to BrownStyle Magazine about her plans for 2026, which include growth, purpose, and new possibilities.
A Philly Girl With A Purpose
One look at Lachelle, and you instantly pick up on her confidence and positive aura. Her contagious energy ultimately led to her becoming a household name in her hometown of Philadelphia.
“Growing up in this city shaped me in ways I’m still discovering,” she says. “I feel people because I am them.”
When the studio lights turned on and the countdown to Philly Live began, viewers often saw the final picture — the smile, the calm presence, the effortless glow. But long before the cameras began to roll — before makeup, scripts, or the hustle and bustle of the newsroom — the Emmy award–winning host always started her day as a woman moving with intention and gratitude.
“I’ve worked hard my whole life, but I’m at peace. I have joy,” she said, noting her soft life starts with balance. “ My soft life is gratitude — appreciating simple moments and small blessings.”
Finding Strength In Faith And Family
For Lachelle, faith and family are the foundation of her life.
“My faith is one of the strongest parts of me,” she expresses. “God has been with me through every step.”
The proud wife and mom says she also finds strength in her husband, her children, and her strong village of support.
“Being a mom, a wife, and working full-time pulls you in different directions. Some days you give more in one area than another — and that’s okay. My village keeps me steady,” she notes.
Showcasing Confidence Through Fashion
As a TV host, Lachelle became known for her “sophisticated, edgy, and chic” style, which she highlights on Instagram using the hashtag #LooksByLachelle.
In discussing her personal style, she opened up about the journey it took to find her signature look.
Like most women, Lachelle admits her style has grown with her life. But with guidance from internationally published stylist Kevin Parker, Lachelle learned how to dress for who she’s becoming — not who she used to be.
“As my funds increased, so did my wardrobe budget — thank God,” she jokes. “I look back at old photos and wonder why people let me leave the house like that.”
Today, her mindset is simple: dress like the woman you’re growing into, even while you’re still on the journey.
That outlook is exactly what helps her navigate her personal style after having children. “I went from a size 6 to a size ‘you don’t want to know.’ The clothes and stores I used to shop at aren’t the same. Some days I feel great. Other days, I want to hide. I’m learning this version of myself one day at a time,” she reveals.
For the media professional, being fashionable starts with confidence. “If we look good, we feel good,” she reminds us. “Fashion is my armor. When an outfit works, I stand taller.”
But once she’s home, everything shifts. “I change into my house clothes right away,” she laughs. “Being comfortable gives me confidence too — because I can just be myself. And I love myself. We all should. The best thing a woman can wear is being true to who she is.”
Her beauty routine? It stays simple. “Cleanser, moisturizer, oil, and cocoa butter — that’s it. You’ll thank me later!”

Her Next Chapter
Now that her chapter with NBC10 Philadelphia is coming to a close, she plans on stepping into 2026 with intention. Although her journey is still unfolding, she teases exciting projects coming down the pipeline. The word that comes to mind: growth.
Since her early days producing and reporting at 6abc-WPVI, Lachelle has built a mission centered on amplifying voices, celebrating culture, uplifting Black women, and honoring Philly’s spirit. That mission doesn’t change. It simply moves forward.
“We deserve the same opportunities, the same rooms, the same tables,” she proclaims. “I want my kindness and my work to open doors for my children and women — especially women of color — who come after me.”
She adds, “Thank you [BrownStyle] for seeing me and uplifting Black women in media — especially during a time when it feels like our light is being dimmed.”
