Whether you are starting a business or scaling your business in 2025, visibility and storytelling is more important than ever to stand out and secure new clients.

According to Bridget Aileen Sicsko and Lydia Bagarozza, cofounders of Visibility on Purpose (VOP), there are countless tools and outlets to share details about your products and/or expertise. It’s just about putting you and your brand out there.

“A business needs to be seen in order to succeed,” the publicists share with BrownStyle Magazine. “You could have the best products or services in the world, but if no one knows about it, your business is going to fail. Visibility is the foundation for sparking interest, generating demand, boosting sales, and increasing overall brand awareness. That’s why we’re passionate about teaching PR to small businesses.”

Launched in 2023. Visibility on Purpose is a PR and media company that helps small business owners earn impactful media coverage in popular publications like BrownStyle Magazine, HomeGoods, Delish, Yoga Journal, and Entrepreneur.

The experts also designed several programs that give small business founders the tools to land meaningful press, spark interest, boost sales, and increase overall brand awareness.

“We’re big on evening the playing field and not gatekeeping any information that will help a brand gain more visibility, which always results in more growth,” the team notes. “PR not only boosts credibility and trust, but it also creates a positive buying culture for current and new leads, improves SEO and Google searchability, connects brands with high-profile networks, and introduces them to key decision-makers.”

Tips For Boosting Your Business’s Visibility In 2025

Sicsko and Bagarozza have made it their mission to let small business owners know that you don’t have to be famous or wait for a viral moment on social media to land a press opportunity.

According to the experts, it’s all about being prepared and knowing what you hope to achieve for you and your business. Below, you will find three steps to help increase your impact (and confidence) with publicity.

Step 1: Optimize Your Brand’s Assets

“Your visibility strategy should always start by ensuring that all of your brand assets are in place and that they properly serve as a representation of your brand message, values, and personality. Take a look at your website, headshots, product images, and funnels before investing in a PR strategy. This will make the whole campaign process run smoothly and set you up for success.”

Step 2: Leverage Podcasts

“Many traditional PR training companies still don’t talk about pitching podcasts, which is 50% of our strategy at VOP— especially if you’re a subject matter expert!

Podcasts are one of the best cross-promotional tools out there because they put you in front of a highly engaged, loyal audience. As a founder, appearing on a podcast can allow you to share your story (and effectively ‘sell without selling’). You can also gain fans in the process.”

Step 3: Adopt An Outreach Strategy

“You don’t have to be famous to get quoted or featured in a magazine. Magazines, podcasts, and TV have a symbiotic relationship with brands where they need YOU to make their articles interesting and credible. So, don’t be afraid to reach out.

There are strategies and ways to do this but understanding that this is how the media works is extremely important.”

Biggest Mistakes You Can Make When Trying To Achieve Visibility In 2025

According to Sicsko and Bagarozza, one of the biggest mistakes you can make when trying to achieve visibility in 2025 is not putting yourself out there.

The experts note, “How do you think some of those big brands you know, like, and trust got so famous in the first place? They weren’t scared to take the first step and get features. Over time, more and more people learned about their values, products, and services, and now they’re able to be household names. So, our advice – stop hiding, go big, and remember you were made for great things!”

They continue, “Most people overlook that ‘visibility’ helps a brand feel more confident! That confidence can drive important strategies and decisions, leading to significant growth for the brand.”
