Summer nights just got a little more elevated— and we’re not just talking about the rooftop vibes! On June 5, the legendary Whoopi Goldberg introduced the world to Whoop-Tea, a hemp-derived THC mocktail that’s rewriting the rules of happy hour.

BrownStyle Magazine was invited to attend the exclusive launch of Whoop-Tea hosted at the effortlessly chic PB Brasserie in Harlem. Ahead, learn about the highlights from the soiree!
What Is Whoop-Tea?

Whoop-Tea is described as a “half-tea, half-lemonade moment with a mellow 10mg of hemp-derived THC.” Designed for the modern lifestyle, it promises pure vibes without alcohol or hangovers.
It’s the first product from Goldberg’s newest wellness venture with Pure Genesis, a trailblazing Black woman-owned cannabis brand co-founded by Faye Coleman. Together, they’re infusing the culture with a new kind of buzz.

“Whoop-Tea is fun, it’s refreshing, and it’s for people who want to relax, laugh, and enjoy themselves without the side effects of alcohol,” Whoopi shared at the mic, with her signature wit and radiant smile.
A Night To Sip, Celebrate, And Spark Connection

The launch party delivered on every level. Guests were greeted with chilled glasses of Whoop-Tea (served over ice with optional herbal garnishes) while attendees enjoyed lively conversation, soulful beats spun live by a Harlem DJ, and a pop-up joint rolling station.
Even the bites were curated for wellness lovers and perfectly paired with a THC-infused toast. Between sips, we spotted fashion trailblazer Fern Mallis, style maven Stacy London, and several surprise VIPs—all gathered to support Whoopi and her long-standing mission to normalize cannabis wellness for every generation.

Brands We Loved
We’re always here for an event that puts women, wellness, and style in the spotlight. From beauty to beverages, the evening was sponsored by a curated group of brands, including The Doux, Jergens, Candlebis, Brooklyn Tea, BLK + GRN, Wise Chips, ELEVATE, and Noshinku.
Why It Matters

This isn’t Whoopi’s first time blending culture with cannabis. From her earlier company, Whoopi & Maya, to her latest project, Whoop Fam Brands, the EGOT has been an outspoken advocate for plant-based healing and equity in the industry.
Whoop-Tea is an accessible entry point for the canna-curious, the sober-social, and everyone craving an elevated alternative to alcohol. “This is more than a product—it’s a statement,” said Faye Coleman, CEO of Pure Genesis. “Whoop-Tea represents where purpose, pleasure, and plant medicine meet.”
With cannabis drinks emerging as a major growth category, Whoop-Tea is poised to become the sip of the Summer.
