We Spritzed Every MILKSHAKE Mist By Ellis Brooklyn—Here’s Our Faves!

These fun, fruity fragrances are summer in a bottle.

Summer is here, and Ellis Brooklyn isn’t playing around! Their new MILKSHAKE Hair & Body Fragrance Mists showed up just in time to tempt us with sweet, fruity vibes—and honestly, we couldn’t resist trying them all. Do they truly smell like milkshakes, or are they meant just to sound cute? We had to find out!

Read below to see which ones we loved, which ones surprised us, and whether any of them served milkshake vibes.

Meet The Fragrances

The Milkshake Series serves up three playful hair and body mists inspired by fruity milkshakes: Banana, Mango, and Lychee.

Banana Milkshake is described as a boozy, addictive scent that lingers softly on the skin. This decadent gourmand fragrance opens with notes of musk melon, banana milk, and papaya, then eases into a creamy heart of apricot skin, vanilla orchid, and pineberry (aka white strawberry). It all settles into a rich dry down of vanilla ice cream, rum wood, and tonka bean. To sum it up, it’s flirty, lush, and totally indulgent.

Mango Milkshake is sunshine in a bottle. With bright top notes of mango mousse, tangelo, and lemon, it gives way to a sweet heart of coconut blossom, raw sugarcane, and beach freesia. The dry down brings a soft, creamy finish thanks to vanilla, tonka bean, and upcycled musk. Basically, it’s a tropical treat made for warm weather.

And if you’re looking for a “that girl” kind of scent, Lychee Milkshake is your go-to. It kicks off with a fizzy burst of sparkling cassis, lychee milkshake, and pink pepper before melting into notes of red freesia, violeta orchid, and raspberry leaves. The base of sugarcane, ambrettolide, and sandalwood ties it all together into a juicy, slightly sweet floral that’s playful and feminine.

The Inspiration

This collection skips the usual minimalist aesthetic for which Ellis Brooklyn is known and instead embraces graffiti-style bubble lettering, inspired by the brand’s NYC roots.

Founder Bee Shapiro shared that Summer was the season that sparked it all, “I grew up in Seattle’s dark and rainy Winters, so Summer is easily my favorite season. Summer, to me, always has so much joy,” she says. “This limited-edition collection is meant to capture that through scent with a healthy dose of playfulness too.”

Emerald Elitou, Creative Director

“Let me tell you—I’m a gourmand girl through and through! Most of the fragrances in my collection fall into that category, so I was more than excited to hear about Ellis Brooklyn’s new MILKSHAKE trio. The collection includes banana, mango, and lychee body mists, and they couldn’t be more perfect for summer.

Since my favorite color is pink, I had to try Lychee Milkshake first. It’s a bright, fruity-floral scent, and I immediately paired it with Kayali’s Eden Sparkling Lychee—they both share that same sparkling fruitiness that makes a scent feel light, fun, and fizzy. If you love Champagne Toast from Bath & Body Works or Sparkling Hibiscus from MIX:BAR, you’ll definitely enjoy this one.

With mango being one of my favorite fruits, I assumed it would be my fave—and it is. The Mango Milkshake mist has a citrusy-floral scent profile that’s still sweet and fruity despite notes like lemon and tangelo. Plus, it has a subtle coconut note that isn’t overpowering. I own Guava Granita and Miami Nectar from Ellis Brooklyn, and I already plan to layer them together for a delicious, Summery scent bomb.

Last but not least: the Banana Milkshake mist. I’ll be honest—it’s not my personal favorite from the trio, but it’s still a good one. For me, it just doesn’t remind me of the actual fruit, which is what I was hoping for because I wanted to pair it with Vanille Banane from Comptoir Sud Pacifique. Now that I think of it, I still might try this combination.”

“When I saw that Ellis Brooklyn was releasing a milkshake-inspired collection, it immediately piqued my interest. I love sweet scents, so I needed to know if Ellis Brooklyn could deliver on a milkshake fragrance.

The first fragrance in the collection I tried was Banana Milkshake. It immediately reminded me of a banana Laffy Taffy— childhood nostalgia unlocked. There’s something so fluffy and milky about it, almost like a bowl of Blue Bell’s banana pudding with whipped cream on top. I ended up layering it with Eilish by Billie Eilish, and sugary vanilla paired with the banana created a dreamy scent that I fell in love with. Of the collection, this one definitely comes closest to that true milkshake vibe.

Anyone who knows me knows that mango is my favorite fruit, so I was beyond excited to try this one. I expected a juicy, tropical milkshake vibe, but it didn’t completely hit the mark. At first, a burst of mango hit my nose, followed by a marshmallow-y dry down. It’s not exactly what I expected, but pairing it with Pistachio Please by Fine’ry added a subtle nuttiness that complemented the sweetness beautifully.

Last but not least was Lychee Milkshake. Although I didn’t expect it to be my favorite, I loved this one the most. It doesn’t give milkshake but delivers a sweet, juicy scent with a peppery edge. I could also smell the raspberry, which added a tanginess to the mist. I’d best describe Lychee as more of a flirty Summer fragrance than a true milkshake scent.”

“I will definitely be adding these mists to my Summer fragrance rotation; they’re all very different from anything I own in my collection. Here are the notes I immediately pick up on from each of the three mists…

Banana Milkshake – banana and vanilla

Mango Milkshake – juicy mango and lemon

Lychee Milkshake – raspberry and sandalwood

I was expecting all of these scents to have a creamy and milky note, considering the ‘Milkshake’ name, but surprisingly, 2 out of 3 were more on the fruity and floral side. I find Banana Milkshake to be the only one that truly embodies the expectancy of the collection. As far as longevity, they last about 8 hours, much longer than body mists typically last on me!

I love the matte exterior of the bottles and appreciate that they are glass; this makes the packaging feel more luxe. All in all, do I think the ‘Milkshake’ name fits all three scents? No, but they are all intensely sweet and vibrant. I believe they’ll be a hit this Summer!”

“I recently added Ellis Brooklyn’s new Milkshake Body & Hair Fragrance Mist Collection to my stash and trust me—you’re going to need this for the Summer. If you want everyone stopping you like, ‘Wait, what are you wearing?’ all season long… this is your sign.

Let’s start with my favorite: Lychee. Run—don’t walk—to grab the Lychee scent.

This is a fragrance I didn’t know I needed until I tried it—and now I can’t live without it. I love a good Lychee Martini, so it’s no surprise I also love smelling like one. It’s sweet, fruity, and subtle, making it the perfect summertime scent. It’s juicy and bright, but settles into this soft, almost skin-scent that makes it feel effortlessly luxe.

Next up: Mango.

This one’s a bit more tangy than Lychee, but still totally sweet. It’s got that sunny, tropical vibe—like sipping a frozen mango drink on a rooftop somewhere. This one’s giving bold, tangy energy. If Lychee is the flirty brunch date, Mango is the vacation-ready wild card.

Lastly: Banana

Okay… this one surprised me—in the best way. It’s a creamy, tropical dream with an unexpected twist. Think of a banana milkshake blended with musk melon, apricot skin, and a little touch of rum wood. It smells like Summer memories with a grown-up edge. This will really talk to my vanilla lovers! It’s the perfect balance of sweet with a little musk.

Ellis Brooklyn nailed this collection. Playful, fruity, creamy, and perfect for layering or wearing solo. These mists bring body care into main character energy—and I’m here for it.”

The Verdict?

Although Ellis Brooklyn’s MILKSHAKE collection doesn’t give full-on milkshake in every scent, it still lives up to the fun, sweet, Summer-ready vibe any perfume lover would appreciate.
