If you were anywhere near Wilmington, Delaware last week, chances are you heard the buzz about Blondie Mansion! On April 24, The MKT Place Gallery was bustling with good vibes and lively conversation, thanks to the curation of The Power of Culture Experience by Sara A. Crawford.

Designed as part of Blondie Mansion’s month-long residency, the event invited creatives, community leaders, and culture lovers to lean into their stories, take up space, and get inspired.

BrownStyle Magazine was proud to serve as a media sponsor for The Power of Culture Experience. Ahead see the highlights from the event that blended art, community, and entrepreneurship.

Let’s Talk Vibes

From live painting by Brian Mills to soulful snaps from Emir Lake Photography, everything was intentionally curated to celebrate culture in motion.

The Juice Joint 2.0 kept guests refreshed, Charlie Rose Sweets served yummy bites to satisfy attendees’ tastebuds, and Mall the DJ kept people vibing throughout the night. Simply put, it was a mood.

The panel conversation moderated by Ray “Phame” Hancock featured the lovely Sara A. Crawford (Founder of Blondie Mansion), Jenn Thompkins (President & CEO of the Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League) and Dr. Shareeda Tyaire (founder of Brown Girls Rock).

There was even a powerful moment from the VP Community Manager at Chase, Darrin Wilson, who shared a heartfelt message on how cultural identity and entrepreneurship are inseparable when it comes to building strong, resilient communities.

Real Talk: Why Culture Matters

From entrepreneurs to artists, each panelists emphasized that culture isn’t just something we celebrate once a year—it’s the foundation of how we brand, build, and better our lives. When you lead with authenticity, especially in business, you don’t just grow your platform—you grow your people.

The biggest takeaway? Owning your story is a superpower.

As Sara A. Crawford so beautifully put it, “Culture isn’t just something we celebrate; it’s something we live, breathe, and build on every day.”
