The Best Acts Of Self-Care— According To Your Zodiac Sign!

I teamed up with Julia Topaz of Look Up the Stars Astrology to explore the various acts of self-care that are ideal for each zodiac sign.

We’ve all been there: an interviewer opens with “tell me about yourself,” and suddenly your mind goes blank. It seems like such a straightforward question, yet somehow the words refuse to come together. You walk away wondering, Did I even answer that right? (As if there’s a perfect answer.)

Recently, I’ve started including my zodiac sign in my introductions, and I’ve noticed it always brings a smile to the interviewer’s face. It caused me to wonder, why are we so fascinated with zodiac signs? And do they actually reveal anything meaningful about us?

Furthermore, can they help us improve aspects of our personal lives, such as how we approach self-care and what practices might suit us best based on our signs?

To explore this, I teamed up with Julia Topaz, founder of Look Up the Stars Astrology, to explore the various acts of self-care that are ideal for each zodiac sign.

Self-Care For Fire Signs

Let’s start with fire signs. They are passionate and energetic, but can burn out quickly and be reactive under stress. Julia suggests that the fiery energy of an Aries should be doing something active, such as cardio workouts, boxing, or just blasting music while dancing around the house. Anything to let out all that energy.

As for Leos, they feel best alive when indulging in self-expression, so self-care for them might look like dressing up for themselves, making art, or spending time with people who truly see them.

To round up the fire signs, a Sagittarius needs space, but not just physically, but mentally and spiritually too. This sign could benefit from hiking, planning a trip away, or just reading something that’s mind-expanding.

Self-Care For Water Signs

Next up, water signs. They are intuitive, emotional, and creative, but their emotional depth can sometimes lead to feeling emotionally overwhelmed, or they feel the need to retreat, fast.

For my Cancers, they typically need to feel safe to relax, and safety usually involves the home. Self-care can mean enjoying their favorite comfort food while watching a cozy movie, cuddling up with their pets, or simply cleaning the house while jamming to some good tunes.

Scorpios need solitude when life gets a little hectic. Calm moments to themselves can be uplifting, such as journaling or yoga in the dark. (Something interesting Julia mentioned is that this sign finds small pleasure in some physical pain, so it may be worth it to participate in a wildly intense workout!)

Pisces are highly attuned to the energy around them and need time away from the noise and overstimulation. A few acts of self-care that could be beneficial are anything involving water, from a swim to a relaxing bath. They also enjoy zoning out to music, enjoying a peaceful nap, or just lying in bed staring at the ceiling. Pretty much, alone time helps them recharge.

Self-Care For Earth Signs

Let’s talk about earth signs. They are grounded, practical, and often the ones holding everything together. Since they value reliability and tangible results, they can sometimes miss opportunities.

For the Taurus, comfort is everything! Think warm blankets, long baths, skincare routines, or cooking something rich and flavorful.

Now the Virgo finds peace in order and routine. Self-care can look like tidying up their space, preparing healthy meals, or tending to their plants. But don’t forget that they can be overthinkers, so it may be worthwhile to just sit in a mess and simply breathe.

Capricorns are used to being strong and sometimes forget they are allowed a break, too. A long walk alone, a massage, or turning off their phones and disappearing for a bit are ideal methods of self-care. Real self-care for them can mean softening and letting someone take care of them for once.

Self-Care For Air Signs

Lastly, air signs. They are thinkers and communicators. They are hyper-communicative and open-minded but can struggle with overthinking.

Geminis are constantly thinking! So rest can mean changing the channel in their head. They would benefit from journaling, going for a walk while listening to a juicy podcast, or learning a new skill just for fun.

Libras enjoy beauty, balance, and overall good vibes. They can get overwhelmed by conflict and can lose themselves trying to please others, so alone time is imperative. Lighting a candle or putting on music to approach a new project around the house, such as re-decorating or rearranging furniture is key to creating a soothing vibe.

Finally, Aquarius loves feeling free and being true to themselves. This can mean relishing in a distinctive hobby or having a tech detox; anything that gives oneself permission to disconnect and be themselves.

What Your Zodiac Sign Can Mean To Your Self-Care Routine

After teaching me so much more about zodiac signs, Julia expanded by emphasizing which signs need the most and least self-care. Of course, all signs need self-care, but she highlighted that water and air signs would benefit greatly from self-care because air signs spend way too much time in their head, leading to an overactive mind, while water signs struggle with an overactive emotional space.

As for fire and earth signs, they got a better handle on things, since fire signs are naturally drawn to movement, while earth signs have more inner stability.

So who knows, maybe mentioning your zodiac sign at your next interview could be resourceful. You can bond over it, or it can be used as a form of valuable information. Information that can tell your future employer how you might need to spend your personal days. But don’t stop there, share it with others around you, and let them know that self-care is critical and looks different for everyone, and astrology can back it up!
