Carol Han Pyle Shares Her Tips For Finding A Compliment-Worthy Fragrance This Spring/Summer

Find out the three fragrances the fragrance founder is reaching for this season. Trust me, you’ll want to sniff them all!

Are you thinking about switching up your fragrances for the new season, but have no idea where to start? Don’t fret! I enlisted the help of former beauty editor at Elle Magazine and fragrance founder Carol Han Pyle to share with us the top three fragrances she highly suggests trying this Spring and early Summer.

While most people instinctively lean towards floral scents in the warmer months, Pyle encourages you to step outside your comfort zone and lean into the sweetness of musks and the boldness of rich scents.I always tell people not to be afraid of heady florals, musks, or even something slightly rich, the founder of Nette, a modern fragrance and home brand, shares during our lively conversation. On warm skin, those notes become really alive and interesting.

According to Pyle, “warm weather is actually one of the most interesting times to wear fragrance because the heat does so much of the work for you.”

And as you know, we are all about working smarter, not harder.

Pyle’s early relationship with scent started at her mother’s candle shop in Sausalito, where she spent much of her childhood surrounded by hand-dipped and hand-carved candles. Those formative experiences shaped her emotional connection to fragrance—one she now sees as a powerful tool for memory, grounding, and self-expression.

Although Pyle encourages you to try new fragrance combos in the Spring/Summer, the fragrance expert suggests finding scents that naturally complement your body’s chemistry. “[The heat] amplifies everything, for better or for worse,” she warns, noting that sweat can alter the chemistry of a fragrance. To prevent any embarrassment, she suggests sampling a scent before fully committing to it.

When a former beauty editor–turned–founder talks fragrance, I listen. Consider this your cue to rethink what your new Spring/Summer scent can be. My fragrance tray is officially shifting toward scents that don’t conform to the season, thanks to Pyle’s advice.

Below, find out the three fragrances Pyle is reaching for this season. Trust me, you’ll want to sniff them all!

Nette Lemon Puff

If you’re in search of a fresh and sweet scent, look no further. Pyle describes Lemon Puff as a bright citrus scent that’s built around an exceptional lemon heart and beautifully layered with toasted meringue and clean white florals. In her words, it’s simplydelicious.

Marc-Antoine Barrois Tilia

For something airy and effortless, Pyle points to Tilia from Marc-Antoine Barrois as her ideal linden blossom scent. She describes it as a fresh and cleanfragrance that she could wear all day without ever getting tired of it.

Loewe Roasted Vanilla

Pyle highlights Loewe’s Roasted Vanilla as a scent thatsmells like real vanilla— not the overly sweet versions we’re used to. She adds that it’sreally deep and complex, but still comforting.
