We spoke to an expert to help you bring the joy of flowers into your space.
There’s something about Spring that inspires growth. With newness in the air, this time of year naturally inspires feelings of renewal and a gentle shift towards intentional living and blooming into your purpose.
For Erica Dias, founder of Helen Florals and Erica’s Table of 20, blooming with purpose starts with knowing yourself and what truly brings you joy.
“My journey into floral design began organically,” Dias reveals, noting that creating floral arrangements was her creative outlet before it became a business. “I’ve always been drawn to beauty, detail, and creating meaningful experiences. I realized floral design allowed me to blend artistry with emotion, helping people celebrate life’s most special moments through blooms.”
Today, Helen Florals offers elevated workshops, team-building moments, and interactive floral activations to help women unplug, reconnect, and find inspiration from the world around them.
“Inspiration comes from everywhere: nature, fashion, interiors, travel, and even music. Each season has its own mood, and I love translating that feeling into florals,” she explains.
This Spring, Dias suggests creating floral arrangements featuring roses for their timeless elegance, orchids for their luxurious feel, and hydrangeas for their fullness and versatility. She notes each one plays its role, bringing structure, softness, and a touch of drama.

🌸 Buy flowers in season. Use grocery store blooms creatively by mixing high-impact flowers with affordable greenery. “You don’t need luxury blooms to create luxury looks,” Dias reminds us.
🌸 Use greenery to create a base. Think of greenery as the foundation of your story. Instead of placing it randomly, build a loose, airy base that gives your arrangement shape and direction. Let some pieces extend outward for that effortless, “just gathered” look. This creates movement and makes everything feel more natural and full.
🌸 Layer in focal flowers like roses. To create the “professional” look, Dias suggests adding focal flowers like roses to your arrangement. “Place them intentionally, not all at the same height,” she shares, adding that varying placement creates depth and draws the eye in.
It’s never been about perfection—it’s about expression. Dias encourages us to play with vases, color palettes, and unexpected elements like dried florals or ribbon. “Let your personality guide the design. There’s no wrong way to create beauty,” she notes.
Add fillers for texture. Whether it’s baby’s breath, wax flowers, or something unexpected, fillers bring that layered, luxe feel without overwhelming your design. Tuck them into open spaces to soften the arrangement and add dimension.
Choose your color theme. Dias suggests beginning with one main shade and building outward, mixing soft neutrals with bold accents to create a floral arrangement that feels balanced but still alive.
It has been scientifically proven that even the smallest arrangement can shift the energy of a room. It can soften your mood, elevate your space, and remind you that beauty isn’t something you have to chase—it’s something you can create.
A small arrangement beside your morning tea becomes a moment of pause. A vase placed at the center of your table transforms a routine dinner into something more thoughtful, more present.
“These aren’t grand gestures, but they are meaningful ones,” Dias expresses. “Don’t wait for a special occasion—flowers belong in everyday life.”
