I’ve always believed that every woman deserves a circle of friends who feel like family. For me, sisterhood isn’t just about having someone to hang out with—it’s about having people you can lean on, laugh with, and grow alongside.
The idea for Girl Gang Philly came when I would post on social media about outings I had with my friends. So many comments came in from women saying, “I wish I had this.”
That made me pause. It reminded me how lonely womanhood can sometimes feel, and how necessary it is to build spaces where we’re not carrying life’s weight alone.
The First Girl Gang Event
I’ll never forget the first Girl Gang Meet & Greet I organized. Watching women walk in—some alone, some nervous, some unsure of what to expect. It taught me that courage isn’t the absence of fear, it’s stepping forward anyway. And when those same women left, exchanging numbers and hugging like old friends, I realized that we all need reminders that connection is worth the risk.
Sisterhood Starts With Showing Up
Life loves to throw curveballs. Take our recent Girl Gang Pool Party. Two and a half hours before the start time of my sold-out event, I had to switch venues. Two and a half hours!

I cried, wiped my tears, and then put on my game face and went into action, securing a new venue. My family, friends, and sisters-in-spirit jumped in without hesitation.
It was truly a reminder that strength isn’t a solo act; it looks like asking for help, leaning on your community, and trusting that people will show up for you.
Although there were last-minute changes, my “Girl Gang” showed up for me with messages of encouragement that kept me going. And their support taught me that leadership is not about doing everything yourself—it’s about trusting others to stand with you.
The biggest lesson? Always trust your instincts and always have a backup plan. Life will throw unexpected challenges at us—personally, professionally, and randomly. But when you trust God, stay focused, and lean into faith, things work out the way they’re supposed to.
Making A Splash With Intention
My vision for the pool party was simple: FUN. I wanted us to have a day where we could lay it all down and have fun OUT LOUD. Seeing women who came alone leave with new friends, exchanging numbers and hugging like sisters, was my “this is why I do this” moment.
What I’ve learned most on this journey is that community is not a luxury, but a lifeline. We are not meant to do life alone. Building and nurturing sisterhood, whether it’s two women or two hundred, reminds us that joy multiplies when it’s shared, and burdens feel lighter when we carry them together.
What’s Next For The Girl Gang
So what’s next? GirlsGiving is definitely on the horizon, and I’m also dreaming up something big centered around cancer awareness because sisterhood is about showing up for each other and making an impact together.
If I could leave you with one piece of advice, I would say to be intentional about creating your circle. Be kind, be welcoming, and keep showing up.
Sisterhood doesn’t just happen—it’s built, nurtured, and protected. And when you find it, hold on tight because in this world, your “Girl Gang” is your key to sisterhood, survival, healing, and more!
