Keeping your relationship fresh outside of the bedroom isn’t as difficult as it may seem. It’s all about staying genuinely connected, finding time to vibe with each other as often as possible, and most importantly, remembering the reason you two came together in the first place and building on that.

It’s always important to be mindful that regardless of what you’re going through in your personal lives, you and your partner are still one unit that needs to be watered in order to grow. Below, see the simple ways to ensure your relationship continues to flourish on the daily.

Have Regular Check-Ins With Your Spouse

Work, children, family, friends, and life in general can sometimes be a distraction in relationships. I’m here to tell you to be vigilant. No matter how busy your schedule may get, it’s always important to carve out time to have regular check-ins with your spouse. Use this dedicated time to build a deeper connection with your loved one. Start by asking the following questions to hopefully inspire a candid conversation.

  • “Is there anything I can do to improve our relationship?”
  • “Is there anything that I’m doing well that you want me to keep doing?”
  • “Is there anything that I could be doing better or that you need more of?”
  • “Is there anything that you’re not getting from me that you would like to?”

These are questions that can help fortify the foundation that you both are building and help with transparency on both ends.

Never Stop Dating Your BAE

You’ve probably heard this countless times before, but I’ll say it again because it’s important: NEVER stop dating your person.

Our atmospheres can change the energy of our connections. This is why I strongly encourage you to place yourself in different environments with your partner. Whether it’s a casual afternoon date at your favorite coffee spot or a staycation at a local bed-and-breakfast, enjoy the moment. And remember, you don’t need to spend a lot of money to change your scenery and reconnect with each other.

Book A BAEcation Or Try A New Experience Together

There’s nothing like a trip or a new experience to bring a couple closer together. This summer, I encourage you to plan the perfect weekend getaway for just you and your special someone.

Whether it’s a luxe resort stay or a camping experience, the most important thing to remember is to be present. Put the phones away, ditch social media, and turn off the television to make the most of the experience. The ultimate goal should be to enjoy each other’s company and create memories to remember.

Bask In Your Love And Unity

In closing, I want to remind you that it’s perfectly okay if your relationship doesn’t look like anyone else’s. That’s the beauty of love. Your happiness as a couple belongs to the two of you, so it can be whatever you both want it to be. Whether it’s making out like teenagers and holding hands or having deep conversations and laughing together, your love is unique to both of your experiences.
